Owing to the depleting petroleum supplies and climate change, the research and development of renewable energy are of vital signicance in the coming decades. Various advanced technologies for sustainable energy conversion and storage like rechargeable metal-air batteries and water splitting are the subject of both extensive fundamental and utilitarian studies. e key fact of these technologies is a series of electrochemical reactions, including oxygen reduction reaction (ORR), oxygen evolution reaction (OER), hydrogen oxidation reaction (HOR), hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), carbon dioxide reduction reaction (CORR), and ammonia oxidation reaction (AOR), wherein the kinetics of these signicant electrochemical processes has a considerable impact on the output performance of the aforementioned clean energy-related technologies as a whole. Accordingly, the rational design of electrocatalysts that exhibit considerable electroactivity and robust durability is greatly promising.
     A diversity of advanced techniques involving synthetic chemistry, nanotechnology, and computational stimulation has been developed to direct the synthesis of e›cient electrocatalysts. In particular, nanostructures featuring large surface areas, high active-site concentration, improvedmass/electron transport, controllable structures, and adjustable electronic structure have received utmost attention. erefore, we invite scientic researchers to contribute original research articles and reviewarticles on advanced functional nanostructures for high-e›ciency electrocatalysis.

Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:
   1. Electrocatalysts constructed by metallic or metal-free elements or hybrid systems with diverse nanostructures for electrocatalytic reactions
   2. Latest technologies for nanostructuring and measuring
   3. Advances in optimizing electrochemical devices
   4. Theoretical stimulations to reveal reaction mechanisms
   5. Review articles on recent advances of aforementioned topics
