[交流] Canada University of British Columbia (UBC), one CSC position in Batteries

Dr. Jian Liu's research group in the School of Engineering at University of British Columbia (UBC) Okanagan campus is able to support one more CSC application this year. An ideal applicant should have relevant experience in batteries, electrochemistry or materials science, and meet other academic and language requirements by UBC Okanagan (https://www.grad.ubc.ca/prospect ... oral-scholarships). About Prof. Jian Liu and his research group: Jian Liu completed a B. Eng. degree in Metallic Materials Engineering at Sichuan University in 2006, an M. Eng. in Materials Science and Engineering at University of Science and Technology Beijing in 2009, and a Ph. D. in Materials Science at the University of Western Ontario in 2013 with Prof. Xueliang (Andy) Sun. Prior to joining UBC as an assistant professor, Dr. Liu was a postdoctoral fellow in Energy and Environment Directorate at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL, 2015-2016), and Advanced Light Source at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (2014-2015). Dr. Liu is the recipient of the prestigious NSERC Postdoctoral Fellowship Award (2014-2016), a PNNL Alternated-Sponsored Fellowship (2015-2016), the Mitacs Elevate Postdoctoral Fellowship Award (2013-2014), and the Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Self-Financed Students Abroad (2013).

The strategic focus of Dr. Liu research is to identify and develop key electrode and electrolyte materials to enable high-performance lithium-ion batteries and new-generation battery technologies for transportation and stationary applications, and to develop fundamental understandings on the synthesis-structure-performance relationship in these energy materials and their underlying mechanisms (refer to https://scholar.google.ca/citati ... AAAAJ&hl=en for research samples). Dr. Liu's research group has close collaborations with industrial partners, universities, national labs (PNNL, LBNL), and synchrotron radiation centers (CLS, ALS).
