We have 1-2 PhD positions with financial support for Fall 2017. We are particularly interested in students with background in one or more of the following areas: optics, engineering, physics and materials science. The successful applicants will have opportunities to develop excellent stills in multiple aspects, including electromagnetic modeling, micro-/nano-fabrication, device processing, advanced optical and electrical characterization. We are also willing to host visiting students/scholars working in related areas. The group led by Prof. Yongmin Liu is dedicated to interdisciplinary research that bridges engineering, optics, applied physics and nanoscience. Our research is a synergetic integration of fundamental science, nano material/structure design, and prototype device development. We are developing novel nano optical materials and devices for various applications including next-generation optical information processing, super-resolution imaging, efficient light harvesting and ultra-sensitive biomedical detection. More information about our research can be found at: https://www.northeastern.edu/liulab/. Interested candidates please directly contact Prof. Yongmin Liu (y.liu@northeastern.edu) along with your full CV. Thank you very much for your time and interest. |

研究生申请具体要求参照这里:https://www.coe.neu.edu/degrees/graduate-admissions 语言要求: Taking the GRE general exam and submitting official scores as part of the admissions process is required of most applicants. Institution code is 3665; no department code is needed. All applicants to Bioengineering programs are required to take the GRE. All applicants to Electrical & Computer Engineering programs are required to take the GRE (except applicants who have received or will receive a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Northeastern University located in Boston). For all other programs, the GRE is required, except for applicants who have received or will receive a bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program from a college or university that is located within the U.S. Applicants to the Engineering Management program may submit GMAT scores instead of the GRE. Because applicants are not interviewed to assess their English proficiency, taking the TOEFL or IELTS exam and submitting official scores as part of the admissions process is required of most applicants who are non-U.S. citizens or non-U.S. permanent residents, regardless of the applicant’s undergraduate language of instruction. Institution code is 3665; no department code is needed. Applicants are exempt from the TOEFL or IELTS exam requirement if they hold (or will hold) a degree from an accredited institution located in the United States of America, Canada (excluding Quebec), United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Ireland, South Africa, Australia, or New Zealand. The required minimum TOEFL score is 79 (internet-based), 550 (paper-based), and 213 (computer-based). The required minimum IELTS score is 6.5. If you do not meet the minimum TOEFL or IELTS requirements and you are intending to apply to a graduate engineering program at the master of science level, you are encouraged to apply first to Northeastern University's Global Pathways Program , where you can boost your English language skills and academic knowledge before beginning your engineering coursework. |
