Prof. Bin Li in Computer Engineering at the Department of Electrical, Computer, and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Rhode Island (URI) is seeking applications for Ph.D. assistantship and visiting scholar positions, starting from Fall 2017. The main research focus will be at the intersection of networks, optimization and learning, with applications to data centers, cloud computing, wireless networks and cyber-physical systems. For the new Ph.D. positions, we are particularly interested in highly-motivated students with a strong research background and capability. 1. A B.S. or M.S. degree in electrical engineering, communication engineering, computer science, control, or math. 2. Strong interest in math, especially in probability, optimization, and control. 3. Previous research experiences in communication networks, computer networks, algorithm, machine learning, signal processing, are preferred, but not required.
