| AcetyEation of Creatinina-Creatinine ( 10 g.) was warmed at 60-66" with Ac,O (20 c.c.), and the clear solution poured into Et20 (250 c.c.). The oil which separated crystallised rapidly and after standing at 0" for an hour the solid was collected and recrystallised three times from EtOH or AcOEt. Acetylcreatinine was obtained in colourless prisms, m. p. 124-125" (Found : N, 27.0. Hydrochloride, fine needles, m. p. 185-186" (decomp.), from EtOH (Found: C1, 18.5. C6H902N3,HCl requires C1, 18.5%). Picrate, prisms, m. p. 110-172" (de- camp.), from hot H20 (Found : picric acid, 60.0. C,h,02N3,C6H30,N, re- quires picric acid, 69.6%). The potassium salt, prepared from excess of cone. alc. KOH and a warm solution of acetylcreatinine in EtOH, separated on rapid cooling in plates, which were washed with EtOH and dried at 100" (Found : K, 20.2. C6H802N3K requires K, 20.2%). |
