Catalytic Test. The direct hydroxylation of benzene was performed in the liquid phase in a 50 mL round-bottomed flask equipped with a reflux condenser and a magnetic stirrer. In a typical procedure, 20 mmol benzene was mixed with 0.1 g catalyst (FeP?MNTs or conventional mesoporous FePO4, synthesized as in ref 5, possessing the specific surface area of 258 m2/g, and denoted FeP?MPs) in 20 mL acetonitrile. After the mixture was heated to 333 K under vigorously stirring, 35 mmol H2O2 (30 wt %) were added within 30 min. Then, the mixture continued to react for 70 min. After the reaction, the mixture was separated by centrifugation and analyzed by gas chromatography.
