Hey, let's talk about academic writing in English.

Hi there!  As master's or doctoral students who are aiming for graduation or a position in the academy, we all have to address the task of academic writing in English. However, too frequently have we heard how English is an intractable problem.  So, what difficulties/challenges/problems do you have in writing research papers in English? Have you solved the problem already? What strategies worked for you? Have you tried to address the problem but failed? Why do you think your approaches didn't work? What have you done to improve yourself in English academic writing? These are meant for us to reflect on our methods/strategies to address the challenge of English writing. Better still, by being aware of the things we have done, and those we should have but haven’t, we may make informed decisions about how to improve ourselves in this respect.  |
