We are seeking a highly motivated scientist/senior scientist with interest in assay development and screening to join GSK Shanghai R&D. The successful candidate will undertake day-to-day operations on drug discovery research under the direct supervision of group leader. Job Purpose and Key Responsibilities: • Develop and execute robust, quantitative and scalable assays (both biochemical and cell-based) routinely for drug discovery research • Scientifically design, develop and perform high-throughput screening and hit finding for drug discovery • Provide scientific and technical input into experimental design and data interpretation • Generate high quality data report and communicate effectively with project teams in English • Work closely with other capabilities/disciplines to perform MoA studies Qualifications/Requirements: (Education / Experience / Competencies) 1) Ph.D./Master degree in biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology, pharmacology or other related field 2) Ph.D. with 3+ /Master with 5+ years of working experience (prior in vitro pharmacology assay experience preferred) 3) Hands-on experience of both biochemical and cellular assays using different detection technologies, such as luminescence, fluorescence, ELISA, quantitative cell imaging, etc. 4) Experience with different automated liquid handling systems and high-throughput screening 5) Familiar with protein-ligand and protein-antibody interaction and relevant techniques is a strong plus 6) Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team 7) Good written and oral communication skill 8) Fluent in both oral and written English |
