gPh.D. Research Assistantship Available Starting From Spring 2017
Southern Illinois University at Carbondale (SIUC) is located at Carbondale, Illinois, USA. Carbondale is the center of southern Illinois area, and it is located 90 miles southeast of St. Louis, Missouri. Founded in 1869, SIUC is a public research University with total enrollment about 17,000 students. The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is currently looking for highly motivated Ph.D. students to perform research in the fields of data acquisition and instrumentation, acoustic signal detection and analysis, computer vision, and signal processing. Prospective students are expected to start from Spring or Fall 2017.

Requirements:
1). Students with BS degrees in Engineering (Biomedical, Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, etc), Physics, Computer Science, or Mathematics will be fully considered. We are especially interested in students from signal processing, speech processing, ultrasound applications, and machine learning fields. Experience in MatLAB, LabVIEW, C/C++, and other programming will be a plus.

2). Master??s degree is highly preferred. Students need to provide GRE and TOEFL test scores. There is no minimum requirement for GRE scores. Prospective Ph.D. students will receive degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering after completing the program.
