The Wang Lab (https://wang-lab.ust.hk/) is looking for outstanding postdocs, graduate students, and undergraduates, especially those with backgrounds in quantitative sciences and knowledge of programming and statistical analysis. We are working on Cancer Genomics, Noncoding RNA, Machine Learning and Systems Biology. Post-doctoral Fellow in Computational Biology Job Description One or two Post-doctoral Fellow positions are available in The Wang Genomics Lab (https://wang-lab.ust.hk/) in the Division of Life Science at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). The appointee will study cancer genomics—developing and applying computational approaches to discover driver alterations in cancer to understand the underlying biology and to pursue the clinical implications for precision medicine. He or she will have collaboration opportunities with colleagues at Columbia University in New York, USA, and at Samsung Medical Center in Seoul, South Korea. Requirements Applicants for the Post-doctoral Fellow position should have a PhD degree in mathematics, physics, computer sciences or a related discipline with solid programming experience and background knowledge of biology or medicine. Candidates with experience in next generation sequencing are preferred. The successful candidate should be capable of working independently and have strong analytical skills (Duration: one year, renewable). Salary and Benefits Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. Research Assistant in Bioinformatics Job Description One Research Assistant position is available in The Wang Genomics Lab (https://wang-lab.ust.hk/) at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). The appointee will work as a laboratory technician. Duties include but are not limited to implementing algorithms for analyzing high-throughput sequencing data, developing pipelines and software, and web development. Requirements Applicants for the Research Assistant position should have a bachelor’s or a master’s degree in quantitative sciences with experience in programming. Practical experience in next generation sequencing data is desirable. (Duration: one year, renewable) Salary and Benefits Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. Start Date December 2016.
