It is an important reference for engineers, and in particularchemical engineers who will use such a volume throughout their studiesand careers. Each major unit operation and equipment associated withthe operation is described in sufficient detail for the reader toobtain practical knowledge of the equipment’s limitations and typicalapplications. The book contains sufficient working examples andreferences for the user to refer to more in-depth treatment ofindividual subject areas. A practical reference for chemical process equipment Can be used throughout the process and allied chemical industries Unit operations and equipment described in detail Summary: Handbook of Chemical Processing Equipment Rating: 5 This is an excellent reference book for a seasoned engineerand for project engineering managers. It is not a stand alone textbookfor students, which may disappoint young professionals. However, whatit lacks from a college textbook standpoint, the volume more than makesup for with very practical design and operating information for a widevariety of process equipment used throughout the CPI. It clearly hasbeen written by a seasoned engineer who has extensive design andprocess experience. The book is a strong reference for processengineers and likely a good supplemental textbook for the moreaggressive students of chemical engineering. Practicing engineers willfind this to be a good volume to leaf through for ideas, additionalresources to obtain more in-depth information on, and to troubleshootoperational problems with certain types of equipment, particularly heatexchangers. It is highly recommended for the practicing engineer. Summary: This book is not woth a dime Rating: 1 As a student, I had come to appreciate M. Cheremisinoff work.What a shame he dared to sign such a “book”. Presentation is lame,design informations is either basic or incomplete DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK. You’ll save money, believe me This “BOOK” is not worth a dime. Summary: What a mistake! Rating: 1 The Table of Contents of this book is completely erroneous(and it appears in the Butterworth-Heinemann Web). This is the realone: Chapter 1. Heat Exchange Equipment. Chapter 2. Evaporative CoolingEquipment. Chapter 3. Evaporating and Drying Equipment. Chapter 4.Distillation Equipment. Chapter 5. Mass Separation Equipment. Chapter6. Mechanical Separation Equipment. Chapter 7. Mixing Equipment.Chapter 8. Calculations for select Operations. Summary: Appreciations and wishes Rating: 5 Although I do not read this hanbook yet, I know the work ofProfessor Cheremisinoff and I hope that the specialized informationsupplied by the author will be a guidlines for the specialists in thefield of chemical engineering.
