| The contribution of understory vegetation especially to the reflectance of boreal forest landscapes cannot be ignored. Using a new high angular resolution Ë«Ïò·´ÉäÒò×Ó data set with accompanying in situ measurements of understory reflectance, we identified the most suitable viewing configuration (VZA(1) = 0¡ã and VZA(2) = 40¡ã; PHI = 130¡ã) for the retrieval of inherent understory reflectivity from the airborne data. This is an essential information for any on-going and future efforts to retrieve correct information about understory frommulti-angle remote sensing sensors (e.g. Jiao, Liu, Liu, Pisek, & Chen, 2014), obtaining more reliable estimates of biophysical properties of the tree layer, and further development of forest radiative transfer models in general. |
