【求助】磁性计算图分析

刚开始学Materials-Studio ，很多问题都不懂，第一个图是计算块体Mn11Si19的图，文献中解释说As shown in the figure, Mn11Si19 is assuredly a nonmagnetic material because the nonmagnetic state, Nup−Ndown=0, is the most stable arrangement. However, a metastable ferromagnetic state appears at Nup−Ndown=4. The calculated band structure of the metastable ferromagnetic state indicates that the Fermi energy is located in the band gap for the up-spin state while it is located in the valence band below the band gap the down-spin state。第二个图用到了VEC理论，也叫14电子准则，这是什么理论呢?第三个图In the neutral case, no metastable state appears. When charge is accumulated, the metastable ferromagnetic state appears and becomes stable at large absolute values of the accumulated charge regardless of the polarity of the charge. 对于磁性材料，|Nup−Ndown|为物质所具有的分子磁矩，是指Fermi能级以下自旋向上（up）和自旋向下（dn）的dos的总积分（即电子数）的差值。绝对值为0时即为非磁性物质。根据第一幅图，就是值为0时，体系能量是最低的，即值为0时体系最稳定，但在分子磁矩为4时出现亚稳态。说自旋向上子带的Fermi能级处于带隙中而自旋向下的处于价带中，这可知此物质为半金属磁性材料（up为绝缘体特性dn为金属性）。具体情况要结合文章内容。VEC是价电子浓度的意思，定义为单胞内价电子总数除以单胞原子数。通过改变成分可以在原始值14的附近改变VEC值，进而改变体系的Fermi能级所处的位置，具体结合文章来看吧。第三幅图里显示的胞内Mn原子数同分子磁矩的关系，这个具体要结合文章了。 [ Last edited by encke on 2009-10-31 at 12:59 ] |
