从老外那里学好口语的诀窍
|
Although many foreigners flocked into China in recent years, meeting an English speaking foreigner becomes a rare opportunity for many English learners. Often, we see a westerner is cornered or surrounded by Chinese who are eagerly trying to express. Though the stuck foreigner might show patience and politeness to listen, I don't think its the best way to learn and practice English. Instead, beginners should listen more and treat the westerner as someone like your friend, not to use them for English learning. Once you forget about language, natural communication occurs and your English improves unconsciously and implicitly. More importantly, your conversation with the foreigner becomes interesting and friendship develops. I heard so many times that many westerners who visited China complained that most Chinese they met only wanted to use them for practicing English, and in most cases no interactions occur at all because they only want to show how much English they can speak. Just bear in mind, learning English by natural communication and commnunication is a two-way, interactive process, not your personal solo talk show. Focusing on listening to fresh first-hand English input, you'll learn more, or otherwise, why not speak to a mirror? |
