| POM is a kind of self-lubrication material with the excellent comprehensive performance, which is one of five general engineering plastics. POM not only have the excellent mechanical properties and corrosion resistance,but also its specific stiffness and specific strength are closed to metal material. Due to the unique properties, POM has been widely used in the field of precision machinery, automobile, machine tools, electronics and so on instead of nonferrous metals. But because of some defects like relatively high friction coefficient, bad thermostable performance, high notch sensitivity, low impact toughness, application of POM in every aspect is limited greatly. PTFE is a kind of filling material with the low friction coefficient, good chemical resistance and excellent high temperature stability. In order to further improve the friction and wear properties of POM, adding a crystalline polymer material-PTFE with low friction coefficient can extend its application field. In this study, PTFE is irradiated by electron irradiation system, and treated with mechanical disintegration and fluid energy milling, and then PTFE micropowders can be got, whose particle size is less than 10 microns. Consistency between PTFE and POM can be improved by reducing the molecular weight of PTFE through irradiation. |
