Postdoctoral Fellow Position in Chlamydia Biology Research

The laboratory of Dr. Huizhou Fan at Rutgers University Robert Wood Johnson Medical School is searching for highly motivated candidates to fill a postdoctoral fellow position. The successful candidate will be studying regulation of gene expression in the obligate intracellular bacterial pathogen Chlamydia and exploring development of specific antichlamydials (for more information about research in the lab, visit http://molbiosci.rutgers.edu/faculty/fan.html). Candidates should be recent PhD (or an equivalent degree) graduates in microbiology, biochemistry, molecular biology or a related scientific discipline. The position requires detailed knowledge on molecular microbiology and techniques of transcriptomics and proteomics. Applicants must be willing to work with biosafety level-II pathogens and radioactive materials (32P, 14C, 35S and 3H). Experience in cell culture techniques, molecular biology, histology and microscopy, and strong writing skills are preferred. Candidates must be well organized.
