| Four FBG based sensors were designed to monitor an artificial landslide occurring in the Tangshan of Nanjing, southeast China. In this study, the artificial landslide was simulated by excavating on a hillock with machine and human, in which the four sensors were installed. A sensing system including the four special sensors, optical fiber, and static fiber grating demodulation instrument SM125, PC and related software was integrated in this study, and lots of strain data can be generated by using this system. The result shows that the upper FBG has a better sensitivity than the lower FBG among all the four sensors. The Sensor No.2 and No.4 have can monitoring more small-scale landslide than Sensor No.1 and No.3. Due the difference of rigidity, hard sensors (No.1 and No.2) have a good adaptability to hard environment for big landslide, which should be installed in the nearby landslide area, while soft sensors (No.3 and No.4) are easily damaged in big landslide, which should be installed in a distance to landslide body. In addition, a clear tendency of strain variation can be monitored by soft sensors, which will be used in hazard prediction and alarm. |
