| First, the raw materials were purified, then subjected to acidification, calcination under high temperature and charged with sodium. We used ion exchange method to prepare antibacterial vermiculite composite material with different amounts of silver loaded. By using orthogonal tests, we optimized the experimental parameters for the preparation of antibacterial vermiculite. The experimental results showed that the antibacterial vermiculite with the highest amount of silver loaded, 3.14wt.% was obtained in the reaction at pH=5, CAgNO3=0.09mol/L, temperature under 50 DEG C , and for 5 hours. The infrared spectroscopy analysis of the product showed that purified vermiculites with or without silver loaded were similar in absorption characteristics. The antibacterial ability was measured against Escherichia coli, the results suggest that the product has a strong antibacterial activity and the bactericidal rate was greater when the dosage was increased. |

Anti-bacteria composite vermiculites with varied Ag loads were prepared through ions-exchanged method. The optimum experiment parameters were obtained from orthogonal tests. The vermiculite Ag load, 3.14wt.%, was the largest when PH=5,CAgNO3=0.09mol/L,and T = 50℃ for 5h.. Ag-loaded vermiculites showed similar absorption characteristics with those purified in infrared spectroscopy analysis and had stronger antibacterial activities in test with E.coli., and the higher the load the higher the activity. |
