This position is focused on dissecting the role of novel epigenetic regulators in leukemia and lymphoma, and developing new therapies to treat blood cancer by targeting aberrant epigenetic regulators. This position provides broad training and a highly collaborative and stimulating environment for both basic and translational cancer epigenetic research. Qualifications: • Ph.D. in biology or related science is required. A strong background in immunology, hematology, or tumor immunology is preferred. • Hands-on experience with tissue culture of cell lines, isolation and culture of blood cells (including but not limited to hematopoietic stem cells and T or B lymphocytes). • Experience in retro- or lenti-virus generation, cell transfection/transduction methods. • Familiar with multicolor flow cytometry instrument use and data analysis. • Experience in immunology techniques including ELISA, colony forming unit (CFU) assay, flow-based cytokine determination, cellular proliferation and cytotoxicity assays. • Experience with standard epigenomic studies, such as DNA methylation analysis, ChIP analysis. Experience with high-throughput sequencing technology is preferred. • Experience with standard mouse handling is preferred. • Familiarity with standard molecular biology methods (western blot, qPCR, cloning, protein/DNA biochemistry). • Familiar with genome editing technologies is desirable. This position will provide a unique and multidisciplinary exposure of cancer epigenetics, hematopoietic stem cell development and disease transformation, cancer immunology. |
