回复内容是这样的： 教授：I'm really sorry to let you know that the Department of Economics at UCSD just informed me that you cannot become a Ph.D. candidate at there because the department is not capable of providing you with all the services that would be necessary for you to successfully complete your studies and research work. What I can offer you now is the following solution: I'm also full professor of Economics at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BUTE). You can become a Ph.D. candidate there and I would act as your tutor and supervisor. Please, let me know whether you are interested. I'm sorry again about all your inconvenience. I hope to work with you in the future at BUTE. With best regards, 我觉得他搞错了，我只是去做访问学者，不是去拿博士学位，然后我这么回复他： Is there any misunderstanding within? I will become a visiting scholar under J1 instead of PHD student undef F1. I e-mailed to the administration and their response was that they cannot provide you with all the required services.
