The University of British Columbia Okanagan (Post-doctoral fellow URGENT !!)

One post-doctoral research position is immediately available at the University of British Columbia (Okanagan Campus), Kelowna, BC, Canada. The research will be focused on monocular-based SLAM and multi-sensor fusion for 3D environment modeling and perception. This position is jointly supported by a startup high-tech company located in Vancouver (https://angel.co/iris-automation) and Mitacs (http://www.mitacs.ca). This full-time position is contracted for one year. Extension/renewal of the fellowship is possible upon the good performance of the candidate. Continuing employment is negotiable with the owner of the company. The office is located in Vancouver. Traveling to Kelowna may be required. Qualified candidate should own a doctoral degree in electrical engineering, computer science, information science, robotics or closely related fields. The requirements for this position include: - Solid background in computer vision - Experience with robotics and dynamic autonomous systems - Knowledge in control dynamics and machine learning - Knowledgeable with structure from motion and visual SLAM algorithms - Strong software development skills (Matlab/C++, OpenCV) - Proficiency in Linux and embedded vision system development More information about the School of Engineering is available at: http://engineering.ok.ubc.ca/welcome.html Please submit your CV with complete publication list and contacts of at least two referees.
