The spectrum of MCP method 2 presented an intense band at 1741 cm−1, which can be attributed to the furanone present in the RIF structure. The same band with lower intensity was shifted to the right n the spectrum for the microparticles produced by method 1, althought was not possible to observe this band clearly since it overlapped with a band at 1617 cm−1 represented by the carboxylate group of the alginate. |
