Sentence on the second line above is missing a verb, i.e. INSTEAD OF ... that a steal rod on the bottom of shell TRY ... that HAS a steal rod on the bottom of shell where (3rd-person singular pronoun) "that" = "mistake-proof [shell] design" So Original Shell = Design #1 = NO steel rod = more likely to be misused in service vs Proposed Shell = Design #2 = HAS steel rod = almost impossible to be misused in service And "mistake-proof" = "almost impossible to be misused" "in service" = "being used by customers for its intended purpose" Note "mistake-proof" is NOT everyday English Engineers say "idiot-proof" Textbooks say "more robust" or "more sturdy" In terms of grammar, "... that HAS a steal rod on the bottom of shell" is a clause used to describe Design #2 Such long clauses are common in everyday conversation, but can be omitted when writing instead of speaking Please also show me a drawing of the mistake-proof design showing a steal rod on the bottom of shell Show me how the shell can be made more robust by a steel rod underneath The last sentence is much shorter than your original sentence, but will be understood by listeners to mean the exact same thing |
