If you ask me"what would you like to see changing in china in the next five years? ",i will have a blueprint... Our motherland will grow more and more stronger and gain the great respect of the world.Then we will be proud to be a chinese. The total condition of people's health will get more and more better. Then we will study and work efficiently. The quality of air around will become cleaner and cleaner. Then we will be more healthy and happy. Taiwan will come back to our motherland. Then we will have a whole family. There will be less unemployment. Then we will have enough to feed ourselves. |

Today, we will announce the importance decision that is we will hold a growing enterprises annual meeting in Dalian next year. We know that the organization of World Economy Forum have more than 1000 strategy cooperators around the world, China is one of most representatives amount of those, so we sincerely hope that 1000 enterprises after 1000 top of ranges could have opportunities to cooperate with those from China. Also, we like to help interested enterprises come into China to complete designed mission. On the forum, all of attendances would have the place where the high light topics can be discussed each other, for example, how to create a global brand, how to maintain the growing rate in economy and so on. In the program, one of important parts is to hold growing enterprises annual meeting, which also be know as Summer Davos Meeting. The annual meeting will be holding on 6-8 September 2006 in Dalian, China. 1200 of representatives come from the global growing and leading enterprises, academy, governmental department, will focus on how to face on the Changes and Challenges during the meeting time in Dalian. The sourcing Dalian as the holding place for 2007 growing enterprises annual meeting, also souring Tianjin as 2008 holding place, is the result of carefully works, through which, we are such great pleasure of pointing Dalian as final winner to held this meeting, Tianjin for 2008 meeting. Question: What is the reason of holding the annual meeting in China? Dr. Schneider: It is easy to answer this question. To discuss and explore the possibility caused in the way of economic growing is better to be placed in the area of relatively rapider rate. We can say that China is typical case because China have experienced a long time rapid development, and will became one of leading economic poles around the world. Question: Davoa is a small town in Swiss, also is famous town due to the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum. Can you tell us what are the influences over Dalian? Dr. Schneider: Indeed, it is good topic. The economic growth is important, but how to face on the changes and challenges in economic area, and how to solve the blocks caused, also is fatal, such as poverty, sickness, education and employment. The meeting in Dalian will discuss above-mentioned topics that maybe draw the global attention I think. Question: The Davos meeting will be hold in China, which means that some Chinese growing enterprises will become one of the WEF family? Dr. Schneider: We trust that more and more Chinese enterprises will became one of the WEF families. In the fact, we have drawn our attention on some Chinese enterprises such as Lenovo, China Mobile, China Power, bank of Industry and Commerce of China, Bank of China and so on. We hope them to grow as much as rapid. Question: Davos Forum experienced 35 years, which can be know as most successful forum in the world due to settle the problems in economic and political sector. What do you think of Davos in China? Dr. Schneider: Firstly we like to say that, The World Economic forum have entered into China for over 20 years. Through our works, a lots of foreigner investors take part in Chinese economic construction. The Davos in Dalian will pave a way for growing enterprises both sides to cooperate each other. We trust this goal is available to achieve in Dalian meeting. Question: What's your opinion on China's economy? Dr. Schneider: Just as I mentioned, we are really impressive by the development of China's overall economy. China has a low inflation rate and a high saving rate. Meanwhile, China has a good management of public deficit. On the other hand, China has some problems as well. For example, on the aspect of the systems, this will probably reflect some general support in the field of the financial services. Furthermore, we sincerely hope that China could make better use of the new technology as the foundation of future's development. China has made outstanding achievements on many aspects while it also has some problems. Referred to the Global Competitiveness Report released by the World Economic Forum recently, China drops 6 places on the list from last time. Question: Will the companies who would attend the meeting in Dalian next year be the "Global 501" to the "Global 1000"? Dr. Schneider: We will not classified companies like what you said just now, from "Global 501" to "Global 1000". The companies who will attend the annual meeting held in Dalian are global growth companies. Through 4-5 years'effort, they will be listed in "Global 1000". Our members, national leaders and academic representatives will also attend the meeting. That means some companies listed in "Global 1000" will join us, not every companies listed in "Global 501" to "Global 1000". Question: Could you let us know how many national leaders will attend next year's meeting? Which famous companies listed in "Global 500" will attend? Dr. Schneider: For these 2 questions, it is too early to give an answer. If I give you an answer now, maybe it is not correct. Therefore, it is better that I do not give you an exact answer. On one hand, we wish to invite 100 national leaders as we mentioned in the Global Competitiveness Report to join the annual meeting. On the other hand, we sincerely hope there would be a lot of companies listed in "Global 1000" will attend the annual meeting. We realize that many members of "Global 1000" are interested in the meeting. Furthermore, during the annual meeting, we would like to help them hold seminars. Question: According to World Economic Forum, what criteria do you use to judge global growth companies? Dr. Schneider: First of all, these companies should have a good trend of development and growth. Through 4-5 years' growth, we will be listed in "Global 1000". On the other hand, they need to be international companies, for example, they prepare to enter international financial market or make their products international, or they provide their products to the global customers, or they need to do global purchase. Question: Is there any company in China could meet the criteria? Dr. Schneider: There are many. Through our analysis, there are over 50 companies could meet the criteria. They develop very fast, or to say they can make full use of the global supply channels and the financial market. Some of them provide their products to global customers. That is to say, they own the potentials to be global leading companies. Before we released a plan to hold annual meeting on global growth companies, they have expressed their willing to attend such an activity. That is because they wish to become "Global 500" within 3 years. They responded with full support as soon as we put forward the proposal. We do believe more and more Chinese companies will attend this meeting. Question: Through 3-5 years, these global growth companies will become "Global 500". Will it shake the position of present "Global 500"? What do you think of it? Dr. Schneider: Actually, from right now "Global 1000" companies, we realize that there is a trend for merging of the companies. At the same time, some companies will meet the situation of bankruptcy, while some slide all the way. Therefore, any change is a natural process. In my opinion, through future's development, we could see many "Global 1000" companies come from other districts, or to say more and more from Asia, from China which will be different from now. Question: What kind of conditions especially on software that Dalian should qualify to hold this meeting? Dr. Schneider: First of all, I would like to say why we choose Dalian, which is because we all have a reorganization of the status and capabilities of Dalian. We should say Dalian does not need to do much improvement. We will cooperate closely with the partners in Dalian to prepare this meeting. Meanwhile, before the opening of Davos Annual Meeting, the organizer of Dalian will dispatch a delegation to Davos to learn experiences for the preparations of Dalian meeting. Question: What's your opinion on the hotels, transportation facilities and convention venue of Dalian? Dr. Schneider: All these give us an excellent impression. Dalian boasts very good hotel facilities. The convention center is also very good, especially the environments, a beautiful square. Furthermore, the transportation is quite convenient. I know it will take only 50 minutes' from Beijing to Dalian by air. |
