基于Internet的在线考试己经成为现代考试方式的大势所趋。传统的考试模式的主要地点是教室，只要教室里面配备了桌椅，就可以成为考试的地方。随着电子信息技术的发展，在线考试系统应运而生，它将突破传统考试模式的时间、空间限制。随着计算机Internet技术的日渐成熟，使得原本处于理论研究阶段的在线考试逐渐成为可以实际应用的技术。另外，我们也欣喜地看到，社会上许多考试也是在网上进行的，如(GRE)美国研究生入学考试、(GMAT)工商管理类研究生入学考试以及(CGFNS)全美护士国家委员会资格等网络技术的飞速发展和社会信息化水平的不断提高，计算机在教育测量和评价过程也得到了广泛的应用。计算机辅助评价在教育、教学和学习评价过程中的应用，引发了评价内容、方法和形式的深刻变革。开发、应用能够结合教育测评理论、方法和现代信息技术手段的网上测评系统，为学生个性化学习提供“灵活、方便、科学、公平”的“个别化学习测评服务”，已成为教育战线特别是广大远程教育工作者所面临的一项重要任务。
    “网上考试系统”首先得体现出它是由计算机来代替人工完成考试中需要完成的一系列任务，达到考试智能化。必须能够自动生成试题，让考生在计算机上答题。“纸张化考试”中，每次考试教师均需花时间准备试卷。在“网上考试系统”中，试题可以在已建立的试题题库中随机自动生成，减少人为因素的影响。且能够自动批改、自动分析每张试卷。既然学生可以在计算机上答题，那计算机也就可以迅速地批改试卷，大大提高教师分析试卷的效率。“网上考试系统”还要实现的一个重要功能是:考生的考试完全是自主的，从考试的申请到最后正式考试的结束完全是一个自主的过程，从根本上摆脱了传统考试模式的束缚。除此之外还能够智能控制考试的时间，也可以随时向广大考生开放，做到随到随考的功能，完全摆脱时间的束缚，这也是开放性要实现的一项重要功能。
    本文首先介绍了本课题的研究背景、系统需求，分析了当前基于Web的考试系统所来用的技术，从Web数据库的三个关键技术入手，详细分析研究了Web数据库系统的体系结构、Web数据库的访问技术、Web数据库系统的安全性;最后，论文重点阐述了利用JSP技术设计开发的“网络考试系统”的设计方案，对系统的体系结构、工作流程、系统功能、数据结构、安全性等方面进行了总体规划并加以详细地设计和实现。在该方案中，采用基于B/S三层构架的体系结构和MVC的设计模式，以Tomcats作为Web服务器，后台数据库采用SQL Server2000进行具体的系统开发，论文中阐述了具体实现方法和部分功能实现程序。`

It can generate automatically and randomly test on the base of existent bank of questions which can avoid wasting of time and effecting of anthropic factor.  Furthermore, as all the questions are be answered on the computer, the system can rapidly mark the papers, which can enhance the efficiency of teachers in analyzing test papers.
    Secondly, the "On-line examination system" should also achieve the important function to assure examinee be independent during process of examination from the application of the examination to the end of the examination and shake radically off the shackle of the traditional examination.
   In addition, the “on-line examination system” can intelligently control the test time, thus it can be open to all the examinee anytime. In the other word, the examinee can achieve the pick-test and break away from the restraint of time.
   This article began with the introduce of the background of the subject and its system requirements, and then analyzed the technology applied in the current Web-based examination system. Starting with the three key technologies of Web database, the study analyzed in detail the System Network Architecture (SNA), the accessing technology and the security of the web database system. The paper eventually not only focused on the design proposal  of the "network examination system" exploited from the utilization of the JSP technology, but also formulate an overall plan of the SNA, workflow, system function, data organization and security of the “net work examination system”.
    What’s more, this project had an overall plan to the system structures, the working flow, the system functions, data structures and security of the system, then designed and realized it in detail. In the program, the system structure and design pattern based on B/S three-tier framework and the MVC respectively were provided, and Tomcats was taken as its Web server. The specific system developed from SQL Server2000. the paper expounded the specific methods and procedures to achieve some of the functions.
