Dip-coating and spin-coating of nano-photocatalysts on substrates for antibiotic degradation and/or bacteria disinfection

Job Description:
The research group of Professor Irene M. C. Lo at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, would like to invite applications for a Post-doctoral Fellow position in the research area of dip-coating and spin-coating of nano-photocatalysts on substrates for antibiotic degradation and/or bacteria disinfection. The candidate should have a strong research background in (1) various types of dip coating processes for nanophotocatalysts, (2) material design and synthesis of photocatalysts, as well as photocatalytic degradation of organic pollutants and disinfection of bacteria, (3) operation of various dip-coaters/spin-coaters and equipment such as photo-electrochemical workstation, etc., and (4) operation of analytical equipment such as SEM, XRD, TEM, Raman, XPS, FTIR, etc. The ideal candidate is also expected to have proficient communication skills in both written and spoken English. Appointment will be made initially on a contract with 18 months, renewable subject to mutual agreement. Salary is 26,000 HKD/month or higher which will be commensurate with qualifications and experiences. Fringe benefits including annual leave and medical benefits will be provided where applicable. Interested candidates should apply by submitting (1) curriculum vitae, (2) UG & PG transcripts, (3) most representative publications, and (4) names of referees to Prof. Irene M.C. Lo (cemclo@ust.hk). Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until 31 July 2019. The anticipated start date will be no later than 1st Oct 2019.
