The work will be performed as part of large interdisciplinary project (Opus, New Bottle-Brush copolymers, and osteoarthritis). This project will involve considerable laboratory work including the design, synthesis and analysis of new copolymers with molecular brush topology, as tentative agent for the degenerative disease at various levels of its advancement. The current project proposes the introduction of new functional groups into the structure of molecular brushes, so they will interact with the functional groups of cartilage at various stages of degenerative disease. Duties: A Postdoc will carry out synthetic and characterization research. This position involves working with undergraduate and/or graduate students. Qualifications: Applicants must have PhD in Polymer Science or related field, be familiar with air and moisture sensitive synthetic techniques and have a diverse, working knowledge of standard characterization techniques for polymers (GPC, NMR, UV-Vis, DLS). Experience in organic synthesis, materials chemistry and biomaterials would be considered as advantage to this application. Starting data: By mutual agreement, preferably March/April 2019. Appointment time: Until further notice, but no longer than 18 months. Salary: A competitive salary of c.a. 8 000 PLN will be offered (including tax). University may offer a housing assistance.
