multiple funded ph.d. student positions are currently available in prof. yeqing wang's research group (http://www.ae.msstate.edu/people/faculty/yeqing-wang) in the aerospace engineering department at mississippi state university (msu), starkville, ms. the research directions include, but are not limited to, high temperature polymer/ceramic based composite materials, laser interaction with polymer matrix composites, plasma-material interaction, electric discharge machining, heat and mass transfer under extreme conditions, lightning strike analysis of composite materials. for details regarding research directions, please refer to prof. wang's research website https://www.yw253.ae.msstate.edu/ composite fabrication, testsing, and simulation background is strongly preferred. particularly, students with experience or strong interest in one of the following areas are highly encouraged to apply:
1. fiber reinforced polymer matrix composites

4. lightning strike/laser/plasma interaction with composite materials
