Post-doc Positions in MEMS, Southern University of Science and Technology, China

A full-time postdoctoral position with an excellent pay on piezoelectric material and device, optical imaging sensor and soft material and device is available in the Smart Sensor Lab at the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), located in Shenzhen, China. SUSTech provides an outstanding research environment with state-of-the-art facilities and equipment. Successful candidates are expected to have:
•        Ph.D in a field in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Applied Physics, Medical Physics or other closely related areas. Applicants with previous postdoctoral experience are also qualified and those from top ranked research/education institutions are particularly encouraged to apply.
•        Interest and expertise in Functional materials and device, Rare-earth luminescence MEMS device, Piezoelectric film and device, Soft-material and flexible electrics and so on.
•        Have strong knowledge of imaging processing, programming (C/C++, Matlab) and software control of instrumentation
•        Experience with MEMS fabrication techniques and performance evaluation.

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research associate (RA) at the Department of Mechanics and Aerospace Engineering (MAE), Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), Shenzhen City, China. The successful candidates will join the Advanced Aerodynamics and Aeroacoustics Laboratory (A3Lab), and will be working mainly with Dr Yu Liu (Associate Professor).
Project descriptions
Projects are available in the areas of (but not limited to):
1) Flow and noise control of bluff bodies, e.g. aircraft trailing edges, wind turbine blades
2) Noise reduction of high-lift devices using porous material and morphing wing
4) Sound insulation of cabin noise under realistic cruise and source conditions
5) Modelling and measurements of combustion noise, e.g. biofuel combustion noise, gas turbine entropy noise

Qualifications
Applicants should be of outstanding quality and exceptionally motivated, and should have
1) a PhD degree in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering, Acoustics, Mechanics or a closely related discipline;
2) strong and demonstrated experience in aeroacoustics, flow/noise control or related fields;
3) good publications in peer-reviewed top journals;
4) preferably practical experience of aerodynamic and acoustic testing systems (e.g. wind tunnel, anechoic chamber) as well as CFD simulations.
Salary and benefits
1) The positions are for two years initially, renewable depending on funding;
2) Annual salary 200k~280k RMB ($29k~41k) depending on experience;
3) Outstanding candidates can apply for the Presidential Postdoctoral Fellowship with a bonus salary of 70k RMB per annum, or will be appointed as Research Assistant Professor (RAP);
4) A travel grant of 25,000 RMB for attending academic conferences and workshops, etc.
