Design, synthesis, and processing of advanced porous materials (APMs) for gas storage and separation, such as natural gas storage, CO2 capture, and hydrocarbon separation. The candidates should have good backgrounds in solid materials, sorption processes, and separation engineering. 2. Design and fabrication of mixed matrix membranes (MMMs) containing APMs for gas separation and water treatment, such as H2 purification, natural gas upgrading, and seawater desalination. The candidates should have good backgrounds in membrane science and technologies with a focus on MMMs. 3. Design and fabrication of advanced ceramic membranes (ACMs) containing MOFs, COFs, and 2D materials for liquid-based separation, such as dehydration, solvent recovery, and chiral separation. The candidates should have good backgrounds in membrane science and technologies with a focus on ACMs. 4. Design, synthesis, and evaluation of fluorescent porous materials (FPMs) for the chemical sensing of volatile organic compounds.
