Postdoctoral Position in Quantitative Single Cell Imaging A postdoctoral position is available immediately in Dr. Dan Fu's laboratory in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Washington, Seattle. Our lab specializes in nonlinear optical imaging of living biological systems using two-photon absorption, two-photon fluorescence, and stimulated Raman scattering microscopy. We are seeking a highly motivated scientist who is interested in developing novel single cell measurement techniques to study intratumor heterogeneity and drug response of single cells using 3D tumor spheroids and animal models. Successful candidate will work in a multi-disciplinary, collaborative, and supportive research environment to apply innovative precision chemical imaging tools to a wide range of biological/biomedical problems in cancer research and in neuroscience. The position is renewable annually, with immediate start availability.For more information about the group, please visit: http://depts.washington.edu/fudanlab/ Requirements: An ideal candidate will have a PhD in Physics, Chemistry, Bioengineering or a related field. The candidate should also have extensive experience in one or more of the following areas: two-photon fluorescence microscopy, advanced fluorescence spectroscopy, free space optics or fiber optics, low noise measurements, 3D cell culture, and Matlab/Labview programming. Location:The University of Washington is a vibrant center of biomedical research with close interactions with nearby institutions including the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and the Institute for Systems Biology. It is ranked the 10th in the US News Global Best Universities Ranking. The university is located in Seattle, a major city with abundant cultural attractions, a booming tech industry, and tons of nearby outdoor activities (including three national parks). |
