Thanks a lot for your hard work on our manuscript (No. ***.). Your constructive comments improve largely the quality of our manuscript.

We also fully agree that the figures are more clear and readable when the insets are removed. However, the revised map frame of China might not be accepted by our fund agents. This study is supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC). The NSFC provided us a map frame of China including the inset of South China Sea. According to the contract, the publications using the revised map frame of China would not be approved by the NSFC. So, the revised map frame of China may influence negatively our credit of NSFC. Could we keep these insets in the figures?
