kinetics一词做主语时，动词的单复数。 已有3人参与

写论文时，有两处以kinetics一词做主语，谓语动词都用了单数形式。一个co-author返回修改意见的时候，把这两处的动词都改成了复数形式。 上网搜了下，得到如下结论：当kinetics表示具体的反应速率时，是名词复数形式；相应地，做主语时，谓语动词应该是复数形式（见例1）。而当kinetics表示学科分支的时候，为不可数名词，作主语时动词用单数形式（见例2）。 例1：First-order kinetics were possible despite the complexity of a chain mechanism. (Kinetics and Mechanism, By John W. Moore, Ralph G. Pearson; page 404) 例2：Chemical kinetics, also known as reaction kinetics, is the study of rates of chemical processes. Chemical kinetics includes investigations of how different experimental conditions can influence the speed of a chemical reaction and yield information about the reaction's mechanism and transition states, as well as the construction of mathematical models that can describe the characteristics of a chemical reaction.
