| Dephasing is a mechanism that recovers classical behavior from a quantum system. It refers to the ways in which coherence caused by perturbation decays over time, and the system returns to the state before perturbation. Decoherence is the loss of coherence or ordering of the phase angles between the components of a system in a quantum superposition. |
