Overall this is an excellent paper and may be accepted after minor revision.

A criticism I have is with the title. From reading the title I assumed the authors did high pressure experiments, but after reading the paper, I realize these were simulated. I think the authors should be clearer in the title, as well as the paper.

P.3 '...relative small birefringence...' - what is meant by 'relative small'? Please be more specific.
