Open Position of Qin Lab at Georgia Tech The Qin Lab (www.nanodq.com) in the School of Engineering and Materials Science (MSE) at Georgia Institute of Technology (GT) is inviting highly motivated individuals to join our collaborative team and perform research across nanomaterials, surface chemistry, colloidal science, confocal microscopy, and Raman spectroscopy. The intellectual merit of our research underpins the foundation of science and engineering, with our bold interests in the structure-property relationship of nanomaterials and their potential applications in heterogeneous catalysis, in-situ SERS detection of catalytic reaction kinetics, and nano-biosensing (SERS detection for chemical and biological sensing and imaging). Students with exceptional academic achievements and compelling intellectual passion are expected to establish their own academic identity and recognition for career development and advancement. In particular, we nurture an environment to develop soft skills—both in written and verbal formats—with supports to individuals for sharing their exciting research findings at MRS, ACS, and other conferences for shaping the academic communities of which they become a part. Joint PhD students or visiting scholars (with a PhD degree) with technical expertise in our research areas are welcome to join us with two-year commitment. The candidates should bring their own financial support from the State-Sponsored Scholarship Program such as China Scholarship Council or similar types in other countries. Additional financial support of $1000/month might be available to match the stipend of GT graduate student.
