I don't like winter, either. But spring and autumn are very short in my hometown. So I have to face the long summer and long winter.

In my case, there is a time perspective as to how I feel about winter. When I was younger I tended to tolerate more of the harshness of winter, than hot summer. When I have got a bit of age, however, I tend to tolerate summer heat a lot easier than the winter harshness, or rather the inconvenience winter causes.
Note: the winter harshness I refer to is characteristic of T< -25 deg C and daylight time < 5hrs while the summer heat by T>40 deg C for a whole week and there is no rain in > 3 months

last time, someone asked me what people can do in cold place?
i said people could do some outdoor sports, such as skiing. and more important, some persons could make  benifits by saling the clothes. as we know, people need lots of clothes to keep warm.

I lived in central China where the seasons exchange are not clearly, espically in spring.
