[交流] JAP发表论文收费的问题

前几天JAP接收文章的时候邮件有一段内容：
To support the cost of wide dissemination of research results through publication of journal pages and production of a database of articles, the author's institution is requested to pay a page charge of $60 per page (with a one-page minimum) and an article charge of $20 per article. For any regular, published article that exceeds 10 journal pages, a mandatory $150 page charge will be added for each page in excess of 10 published pages. A link to the Rightslink service for payment of applicable publication charges and ordering reprints will be provided when proofs are ready for review.

我没理会，今天文章已经正式出版了，不过邮件中依然有交费的信息：

Dear Author,

We are pleased to inform you that authors may now order reprints from Journal of Applied Physics through CCC's RightsLink service and enjoy the reduced early-order rate previously only made available to corresponding authors. If you haven't done so already, we encourage you to set up a RightsLink account. Using the link provided above, you may proceed to set up your account and order reprints for your paper.

Please take advantage of the 20% savings while it lasts because reprint prices will increase 90 days after your paper has been published online. When placing your order, enter Customer Code BESC4P2 when prompted.

大家说这个费用必须交吗？文章已经发表了，如果不交不会有什么问题吧。

这两封邮件说的不是一件事儿啊。第一封是告诉你要交费。第二个是说现在reprint有打折。
reprint是你指额外买的纸版paper。除了reprint，rightslink申请在你的论文或讲座里使用paper里的图片之类的用的，完全是你需要的时候才管，不需要的话就不用管了。到paper所在那个网页，右边就有copyright&permission的链接，点进去就是了。除了reprint之外，大部分功能其实是免费的，比如上传到个人、学校或者其他非盈利网站，讲座、讲课、论文插图等一般都是当时就能打印出license来。
