You told part of the truth. Nearly all of the tea people drink in Tibet belong to dark tea, and Puer is just one kind of dark tea. The dark tea are produced mostly in Sichuan, Yunan, Hunan, Hubei, Shanxi.  And Tea-horse Trading Road rised in the Tang Dynasty, flourished in the Song. To be more precise, Cha Ma Gudao are devided into tow roads, Sichuan-Tibet  route and Yunan-Tibet route.

Yes, the green tea is most beautiful among the six basic kinds of tea. Besides, a friend told me once that he loved green tea for its artistic conception.
