Concepts of Novel Nanomaterial Device and Application
Call for Papers
In recent years, low-dimensional nanostructures have attracted wide attention and became a focus of scientific research and engineering application. This is due to their novel physical, optical, and chemical properties caused by size and quantum effects, as well as potential applications in various kinds of devices, such as optoelectronics, nanoelectronics, chemical sensing, detector, medical diagnostics, drug delivery, energy conversion, and energy storage. For example, semiconductor quantum dot lasers have been intensively investigated for applications as light sources in modern optical communication systems. The importance of this research field is evident from the increasing number of projects funded around the world and explosively increasing number of research publications in the literature. Therefore, the editors feel that it is the right time to bring a special issue on novel nanostructures for device applications for the benefit of the readers of the Journal of Nanomaterials (JNM). Potential topics include, but not limited to: Growth and synthesis of low-dimensional nanostructuresNovel characterization and analysis techniquesDevice concepts for nanoscale sensors and systemsTheoretical calculation and simulation regarding nanostructure devicesScience and technology for interfacing at the nanoscaleNanostructured materials, fabrication, and integration processes for devices
Before submission, authors should carefully read over the journal¡¯s Authors Guidelines, which are located at http://www.hindawi.com/journals/jnm/guidelines/. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Manuscript Tracking System at http://mts.hindawi.com/submit/journals/jnm/cnnm/ according to the following timetable:
Growth and synthesis of low-dimensional nanostructures
Novel characterization and analysis techniques
Device concepts for nanoscale sensors and systems
