[交流] Two PhD positions in biomolecular simulations : Wollongong, Australia

Two PhD Scholarships are available immediately in the School of Chemistry, University of Wollongong, Australia to undertake research into understanding the molecular mechanisms of enzyme-catalysed reactions with computational techniques. This project will involve both state-of-the-art methodological development and application of such methods to study biologically important enzymes in close collaborations with experimental experts. A better understanding of the physiochemical principles underlying enzymatic reactions hold promises for technological benefits in the forms of new drugs and novel catalysts.

Eligibility: To be eligible for this scholarship, the applicant must
• Have a first class Honours degree or a Master’s degree by research in Physics, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biophysics, or a related field;
• International students will need to satisfy the University of Wollongong’s English language proficiency requirement (http://www.uow.edu.au/future/int ... nglish/index.html);
• Possess a strong desire to study biological problems using state-of-the-art computational methods. Advanced course(s) or experiences in biomolecular simulation are a plus.
Remuneration:

The full time stipends of $24,653 per annum tax exempt. Duration is 3 years and candidates may apply for a 6-month extension for research related reasons. The scholarship is for study in Australia and there is no restriction on citizenship.
