What is modernization? What environment do we need? Do you still remember the song "Xiao Yanzi"? In that song, there is such lyrics, "we will build big plants, install new machines". I remember when I was young, tall chimneys with heavy smoke are symbols of a modern society. Later, we want skyscrapers. A city is a place with many tall, extremely tall buildings. At present, many cities are competing for the tallest building in their province, in south China, in north China, or in China, in Asia, or in the world. All these have become into reality. We have many plants, with polluted air, tall chimneys; we have many skyscrapers, some of them rank in the top 10 tallest buildings in the world, or in China. Recently, in our city, on many construction sites, they build many tall apartment buildings, most of them have 30- or more stories. And, most of them are very close to each other. This may be the so-called ghost cities. Only the cement building, tall, grey, motionless. The inhabitants can not see any green plants, or sky. What they can see from their windows may only be another window, or building. Have you ever noticed tall apartment buildings we built many years ago? In about 2003, about five (I forget the exact number) tall apartment buildings were built beside the Qinhuai River in Nanjing, the location is right near the intersection between the West Beijing Rd and the Qinhuai River, on the west side of the Qinhuai River. They are about 30 stories tall, and are distributed on a very big piece of lawn, very big. On the land, there were no other bulding, there is a very big piece of empty land there. I mean, these five buildings are much better than what I saw in our city today. Do they need approval to build such crowded buidlings? How did they get such approval? A good city for inhabitants should be a city where people can enjoy their life. In a city with polluted air, where you can not see the sky or the sun, how can you enjoy your life? I only regard the present era, with polluted air, food, soil, and with the above mentioned adhereing-together apartment buildings as termparory. China will become better. The environment will become clean, the food will become safe. But, the crowded buildings will last. If we build so many, many such buidlings, after many years, such as 50, what should we do with them? Still live there? Dismattle? | When young , my family was component with father, mother, older brother & younger brother , poor ,but we hadn't felt hard . There was a river in front of my home , when my father didn't go to vegetable selling, he caught fish by fish-net. With the time gone , the river was occupied by life waste , plastic bag , glass bottles ....When I graduated from the middle school , the river had diffused fumes. About several years gone , it was disappeared. Now , life are changed great , but with great pressure ,I haven't felt happiness ,because of hard working. |

| High house price prevent our Chinese dream realized,as the estate had costed too many resources ,even occupied. It's said that 1% of Chinese families have occupied about 41.4% wealth of China, however in the USA , it's 5% of the American families have occupied about 60% wealth. So ,this is all of us hated USA..Than , what about ourself ?? |
