PhD opportunity at Univ.of Pittsburgh (Environmental engineering/Biotechnology)

Openings: The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) at the University of Pittsburgh (http://www.engineering.pitt.edu/civil/) is seeking one or two PhD student(s) to work under the guidance of Dr. Na Wei. Prospective students with a M.S or B.S degree (or expected by the time of admission) in Environmental Engineering, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Chemical Engineering, or related fields are encouraged to apply. The lab research areas include (1) value-added biotransformation using metabolic engineering approaches for the production of renewable fuels and resource recovery from waste and (2) biodegradation and transformation of emerging environmental contaminants and the biological/ecological impacts. The starting time can be Spring 2014 or Fall 2014. The selected candidate will receive graduate assistantship, full tuition, and benefits.
