it will be helpful and indicative to design the damping propertis of coating layers reasonably by investigating the effects of coating thickness varitions on the damping properties.

In Fig. 2, No obvious damping amplitude effect was observed for matrix. Neverthelss, distinct damping properties were observed between PS and ED coating systems, which may be related with the mcrostructure of corating layer rather than the matrix.

therefore, the coeating layer, instead of matrix, is considered to be responsible for the damping amplitude effect.

个人觉得，有些地方的涂层，应该突出“层”的实体，而不是用“抽象概括”的涂层表示。
