Thank you for submitting your manuscript to ADVANCED FUNCTIONAL MATERIALS.
The reviewer comments are attached below.

Unfortunately, on the basis of the reviewer comments, we are not able to
accept it for publication in Advanced Functional Materials. Since we receive
considerably more contributions than we can possibly publish in the limited
available space, we can almost only accept those manuscripts that receive
clear-cut positive reviewer reports. In addition, a further selection
process has to be applied, in which an article is also assessed as to
whether it is of great significance for the development of a topical area of
materials science. This means that papers judged to be more suitable for a
more specialized journal are not accepted for publication.

My suggestion is that we consider the paper instead for our sister journal,
the Journal of Polymer Science: Polymer Physics.

JPS: Polymer Physics has recently undergone a relaunch and now has a broad
scope that encompasses all physical aspects of polymer systems from polymer
electronics, through optical properties to biopolymers.

At JPS: Polymer Physics we would be happy to expedite the review process for
your manuscript -- additional external review would probably not be
necessary if the referees’ concerns are addressed.

Your paper would be published online rapidly after acceptance, and we could
also offer additional exposure in the community via our news site
MaterialsViews.com.
