[交流] 收到PRL审稿意见，求围观解读

各位虫友，昨天晚上收到了PRL的审稿意见，总共两个审稿人，一个建议major revision,一个Accept，Eidtor综合考虑之后让我大修。副编辑说can be reconsidered for publication after revision. 部分真是不懂，请大家帮忙解读，主要是Eidtor的话不怎么明白。谢谢大家！！！

Editor: I have now received two reviews of your paper. The first recommends Major Revision and the second recommends Accept. However, in the latter case the reviewer asks for significant revision, making his judgement one of Minor or even Major Revision. As far as I can see, all the criticisms and suggestions are justified, and in the case of those of the first reviewer, a lot of upgrading and revision is necessary. Indeed, Reviewer #1 says "a massive evaluation should be done ...", and this means what it says. Even the remark of Reviewer #2 "(2) The experimental results lack of further explanation on the performance of the trackers in handling frequent full occlusions" seems to me to demand much more than trivial re-explanation. Accordingly, I would like to encourage you to do what you can to put right *all* the criticisms of the reviewers and bring the paper up to publication standard. I ought also to say that PRL does not allow papers to be massaged gradually into shape with the help of the reviewers. At most two revisions can be allowed: one, to make good all the major criticisms and hopefully all the minor ones, and possibly another to deal with (for example) any (minor) knock-on effects that alternate reviewers then notice.

晕，这PRL太具迷惑性了吧。进来一看，编辑给的意见这么长这么具体，明显不是physical review letters的风格。而且physical review letters的审稿人叫referee，不叫reviewer。
不过LZ收到的这个意见也是很好的，编辑很NICE，鼓励你按照审稿人的意见进行修改，认真改肯定会接收的。
编辑的意见里，前面讲的是对审稿人意见的一些点评，反正就是让你一定要逐条响应和修改论文。
最后说I ought also to say that PRL does not allow papers to be massaged gradually into shape with the help of the reviewers. At most two revisions can be allowed: one, to make good all the major criticisms and hopefully all the minor ones, and possibly another to deal with (for example) any (minor) knock-on effects that alternate reviewers then notice.
这段的概括起来说就是希望你把握好机会，因为你最多只能改两次（包含这一次在内），两轮修改之后，再不让审稿人改变主意支持你发表他就会拒稿。
