Main job tasks: 1. Development of chemistry and bioinformatics applications a. Development of tools to support integration of lab equipment into informatics workflow, i.e. ELN and NNCD b. Development of tools for registration, editing, and analysis of data c. Design, development and maintenance of shared software components 2. End user support, operation and maintenance of research informatics infrastructure a. End-user support in areas of the NN compound repository (NNCD) and the NN electronic laboratory notebook (ELN) related to registration of proteins and results b. In-depth analysis, bug tracking, and error finding in informatics environment c. Coordinate and facilitate communication from NNST to SciComp in relation to use and experiences with NNCD, ELN and data registration in general d. Presentation of applications and training of users to promote sharing of knowledge by use of NNCD and ELN 3. Operation and maintenance of IT infrastructure a. Back-up function for operation and maintenance of citrix environment and computation servers b. Conduct and coordinate tests in relation to new releases of NNCD and ELN Technical skills: 1. C# .Net programming. Experience with programming of thick client server applications 2. Oracle, PL/SQL experience 3. Experience with Citrix (advantage) 4. ASP .Net experience (advantage) 5. HTML5/ mobil device experience/knowledge (optional) Specific personal and job related demands 1. Customer focus a. Seeks to understand the customer – actively seeks information to understand circumstances, problems, expectations and needs b. Identifies customer service issues – Identifies breakdowns in internal processes that directly impact customer service and retention. Other individual assignments : • OH&S: If installed as a member of the Lab Safety Committee or other committee relevant to OH&S management and implementation in NNST, share the committee’s overall responsibility, and take tasks signed specifically to the individual member, to ensure OH&S work in NNST as described in the Committee description. • Up to 5% of the time, and up to 5% 3P goal setting weight, will be allocated to the OH&S work for the period as a member of the OH&S organization. Qualifications (minimum requirements): • 5+ year professional experience in IT, 2+ year experience in project management • Excellent communication skills Chinese: Skilled to communicate and present technical material to an audience of domain specialists English: Skilled to communicate and discuss advanced technical material in a small group • Team player • Ability to complete high quality tasks and meet deadlines Education: • Master Degree or above in Computer Science, alternatively Physics, Mathematics or Engineering Preferred skill • Formal training in project management Professional experience: • Experience in software engineering including the development of software. Preferably with a high content of scientific domain knowledge and the development of software for regulated environments • Substantial experience with object oriented domain analysis and software design • Strong programming experience in object oriented and procedural programming languages • Proved technical experience and understanding of the IT infrastructure and technology • Proved experience in servicing and supporting end users with use of IT systems Preferred skill • Experience with mathematical modeling and construction of algorithms • Experience with both Windows and Linux Server administration |
