Important information about JCR/SCI indexing
Probably in January 2013 Thomson Reuters suddenly decided to break indexing of our journal. We write "probably" because Thomson Reuter was no so kind to inform us about this decision. We obtained first signals about not indexing from China authors in March. After sending an alert Thomson Reuters confirmed in mail dated 13 March that Przeglad Elektrotechniczny was dropped from Master Journal List. As the reason was given that PE exceeded acceptable value of self citation index equal to 77% (more exactly the reason is too small percent of citations in other JCR journals). Such mode of treating us by ISI is surprised because we did not receive any information about breaking of indexing, we had not earlier warnings and our data for 2012 were not presented - we delivered all papers till March 2013. Moreover nothing new happened - similar self citation index we had when we was accepted to the list, as well all the years of indexing.

We are still indexed by other independent databases as Scopus or Google Scholar. Of course authors who decided to submitt papers only to obtain SCI indexing are free to withdraw their papers. We sent to Thomson Reuters appeal but on 21 March we obtained information that decision is sustained. Decision of ISI is very unfair for authors who received financial support for papers published in JCR journal in the first quarter of 2013 and now are requested to give support back. Because for such situation is responsible ISI due to delay in information we send special request to include to indexing also issues 1,2,3/2013 but Thomson refused. Of course also authors are free to demand from ISI indexing of the papers published before data of oficial information about journal dropping.
