Openings of graduate assistantships at the University of Hawaii at Manoa
|
We are looking for up to two responsible and self-motivated graduate students (preferably PhD) who are interested in experimental studies in biochemistry and biophysics. The appointment can be started as early as the Spring 2013 or no later than Fall 2013. This NSF-funded project will be conducted in the Laboratory of Biocolloids and Biointerfaces in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. The work involves experimental studies of bio-nano interactions and phospholipid monolayers using AFM and a variety of surface tensiometry techniques. Although we are in an engineering department, our work falls into areas of physical chemistry, surface sciences, and biophysics. Therefore, we welcome all qualified students from Chemistry, Biology, and Engineering. Selected students will be supported by TA that would be sufficient to cover all living costs in Hawaii.
