[求助] What is the difference between NAO and ANO?

What is the difference between Natural Atomic Orbitals and Atomic Natural Orbitals?
And what is the relationship with NBO?

So confused.

By the way, what is the density matrix? How to comprehend it? Can anyone give me a simple and plain interpretation?

I saw the saying "轨道占据数为值" somewhere.

But, since the volume is  a constant, so the matrix can be divided by V and be considered as density representation, isn't it? Otherwise why do people call it density matrix?

So what are the elements in a density matrix?

NAO（具体来说是Cor及Val型NAO）是一种从分子环境中还原出的原子轨道。ANO是单原子体系的自然轨道。
对于单原子体系来说，ANO和NAO是一样的。
NBO是对以NAO为基描述的密度矩阵进一步分析得到的一套高定域性轨道。
密度矩阵的两个资料放在附件里了，讲得还是比较清楚的。

1 density matrix
   Can I say that Slater determinant multiples its conjugate determinant giving density matrix?

2 对于单原子体系来说，ANO和NAO是一样的。
  For  a polyatomic molecule case, what is the difference between them? I pictured ANO as s p d.. orbitals on atoms. But I have difficulty to picture NAO. Do they differ in exponents of radius function? Or different angular functions?

3  How to picture NBO? Giving 1-3 buta-di-ene as example, can I say that electron clouds surrounding 1,2 carbons and 3,4 carbons are NBO?
